Jill Stansbury Biography
Jill Stansbury, ND
Jill Stansbury received her doctorate in naturopathic medicine (ND) from National College of Naturopathic Medicine (NCNM) in 1988. An extremely gifted singer, musician and songwriter, and mother of two, Dr. Stansbury is Chair of the Botanical Medicine Department at NCNM in Portland, OR, and has been a professor of botanical medicine there since 1991. Founded in 1956, NCNM is the oldest college of naturopathic medicine in the United States. Dr. Stansbury has also has had a flourshing naturopathic practice in Battleground, WA since 1988. Jill is a regular contributor to Medical Herbalism, where she publishes detailed articles on botanical therapies. She is the author of the book, Herbs for Health and Healing published in 1997. She combines scientific research and traditional concepts on botanical therapeutics, philosophy and energetics in her practice and writing.
Jill is an avid student of the natural world, and continues to study and research issues in environmental science, zoology, chemistry, metallurgy, quantum physics and other natural sciences. In addition to her naturopathic degree, she holds a degree in botanical illustration, is certified as a medicial assistant, and is a member in good standing of the American Association of Naturopathic Physicians.
