This lecture begins with a complete description of the types of blood lipids, including HD> and LDL and VLDL.  Dietary fats are also described: saturated, unsaturated, polyunsaturated and hydrogenated.  Therapeutic methods for modulating the types of lipids in the blood include the ingestion of therapeutic fats/oils, the use of fiber, vitamins, minerals, and botanicals.  Botanicals discussed include dong quai, guggul, hawthorn, turmeric, globe thistle and Manascus purpurea.  Nutraceuticals discussed include coenzyme Q10, policosanol, carnitine and creatine.
