Immunomodulators show great promise in the treatment of the immune dysregulation that is so commonly experienced by today's clinician. Three plants from the Ayurvedic pharmacopoeia are described in depth. The geographic distribution, energetics, constituents, traditional uses, actions, immune effects and special features of Picrorrihza, Tinospora and Withania are discussed. Methods of medicine preparation and therapeutic doses are included.
