Types of immune reactions which lead to the inflammatory response are listed, and the effect steroid drugs have on those reactions are described. The body has natural mediators of inflammation (including histamines, macrophages, mast cells and PAF's) which can be made more effective by the use of botanicals. Classes of botanicals include: anti-inflammatory, salicylate, EFA botanicals, and saponin containing plants.
